Soon after returning from Europe in the mid-eighties, Joanna Cumberland established JB Cumberland & Associates, a PR firm in Manhattan, NY, to respond to a clear need -- and opportunity -- to coordinate communications between a news-hungry press and the well-designed, upscale consumer products being launched in the US.
Over the last 20 years Joanna’s firm, in various ramifications, has continued to be an industry leader, branding consumer products with creative, strategic Public Relations programs. In the late-nineties the JB Cumberland Division at what was then LobenzStevens PR, became the backbone for today’s NY office for Publicis Worldwide.
Since spring of 1999, Joanna has once again returned to her independent agency roots and re-founded JB Cumberland PR, a branding & marketing firm, specializing in PR campaigns. Clients range from beauty, accessories and healthcare to kitchen, food, life style, and home, both indoors and outdoors, with some juvenile and cause-related categories balancing out the picture. Throughout all these years the firm also has retained its strong grounding in both the American and European markets.
Appreciated for always stepping beyond the standard PR approach, JBCPR works together with each client’s management team and sales force to develop a smart marketing approach that fits the individual needs of each company. Over time JBCPR has also created several agency-proprietary, tactical programs to advance clients visibility, including direct involvement and contact with primetime TV set designers, major charitable organizations, celebrity-involved events and specialized online communities.
